Morganton, NC — Britt Abernathy, a member of the culture and talent team at AMOREM, will take the stage at the COMMA in Morganton on February 15 to raise funds for AMOREM during the Dancing with the Local Stars—Burke County competition hosted by FC Presents.

Dancing with the Local Stars- Burke County is dedicated to fostering transparency and integrity in all aspects of the show. The mission of DWLS-BC is to unite the community for a memorable evening of live entertainment, raising funds for local charities chosen by each star. Through performing arts and giving, DWLS-BC aims to create a positive impact on the community. 65% of the show’s revenue goes to each star’s chosen charity.

“I am honored and excited to be chosen as a local star during this year’s amazing production,” says Abernathy. “What a privilege it has been already to raise funds knowing that this money will help further AMOREM’s mission and support patients and their families, right here at home!”

Abernathy’s decision to dance in support of AMOREM, Burke County’s local, community-owned, hospice and palliative medicine provider, was something that she describes as a simple one. AMOREM’s mission is to provide quality, thoughtful, loving care to patients and support to their families and to offer education and grief support to communities served. This is a mission that Abernathy believes to be well worth stepping out of her comfort zone for.

“This dance is my act of love for my community,” says Abernathy. “I will be dancing to show you MORE excitement, MORE showmanship and will leave you with MORE to talk about. I am simply the AMOREM star that you will see on stage but, I want the community to be assured that AMOREM is full of stars that will support you and your loved ones day and night.”
