Hudson, NC – The Town of Hudson, through the HUB Station and Hudson Arts Center, will present their 37th Dinner Theatre Production, the Broadway musical “9 to 5” on March 27th, 28th, 29th and April 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2025. Auditions will be held in the auditorium of the HUB Station, 145 Cedar Valley Road on Sunday and Monday, January 12th and 13th at 7 PM both nights. Please wear comfortable clothing, no open toed shoes, and be prepared to sing, dance and read from the script.
“9 to 5” is the Broadway musical version of the 1980 film “9 to 5,” starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The music for this musical was written by Dolly Parton. The roles of the three leading ladies have been cast, as well as the role of Franklin Hart. Parts remain for the roles of Joe, Dwayne, Josh, Missy, Maria, Dick, Kathy, Margaret, Bob Enright, Tinsworthy, the Detective, the Doctor, a Candy Striper, a new employee, dancers and men and women for the ensemble. It will be a cast of 30. Technical builders, backstage workers, set crew and instrumental musicians are also sought. There will be cold reading from the script and you need to prepare a song for auditions. This is a musical and you need to be a singer to participate on stage. Choreographer Holley Dagenhardt will have everyone do some basic movement. “9 to 5” tells the story of three workaday women and their co-workers who fight office politics in a misogynist workplace environment, ultimately triumphing in the end! It is a delightful comedy that is guaranteed to lift your spirits!
