Hickory – The Well Behaved Women Theatre Company has announced its highly anticipated annual production—once again benefiting the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) in Hickory. This year’s comedy will take the stage for one night only at Drendel Auditorium on Saturday, May 31st. Tickets are on sale now and are expected to go fast.
The Lost Virginity Tour features popular local actresses Dorothy Collier Best, Connie Bools, Chrissy Colavecchio, and Shawna Wilson. “The production is directed by Pam Livingstone, Artistic Director Emerita of Hickory Community Theatre, who served in that role for 20 years.”
Women’s Resource Center was the recipient of last October’s WBW fundraiser as well, with over $11,000 being raised at a sold-out performance of that show. “I’m constantly in awe of the women behind this production,” said Michelle Morgan, Executive Director of Women’s Resource Center. “Their talent, passion, and generosity are unmatched—and the fact that they choose to lift up other women through their art is deeply moving. This kind of sisterhood is what WRC is all about.”
WBW’s Artistic Director Shawna Wilson says the play, a comedy about four female residents of an Arizona retirement community on a road trip, was a perfect choice. “It’s very funny, and these characters are so relatable. It’s quite moving, too, and shows the valuable bonds we form by remembering our pasts, letting go a little or a lot, laughing, and appreciating our beloved friends in the present.”
Written by Cricket Daniel, the play follows long-time friends as they crisscross the country sharing stories at the locations of their ‘first time’. Broadway World called it, “funny, profound, provocative, and adventurous”.
Sponsorships are appreciated and available at various levels for the WRC fundraiser. Some perks of the sponsorships range from ads up a full page or cover in the event program, multiple free drinks and tickets, social media shout-outs, and recognition from the stage that night. Learn more via the Women’s Resource Center website, https://wrchickory.org, or their Facebook page.

*Trigger Warning: The play contains a brief account of sexual violence in one character’s story. While the play’s overall tone is comedic and uplifting, WBW and WRC recognize the importance of informing the audience about sensitive content in advance.
