Hickory – Well Behaved Women Theatre Company is bringing back to the stage the comedy The Lost Virginity Tour. The shows will be Thursday through Saturday, May 28-30, and will benefit Hickory Community Theatre. It will be performed at 7:30pm in the Fireman’s Kitchen, and tickets are on sale now on HCT’s website.
The Lost Virginity Tour features popular local actresses Dorothy Collier Best, Connie Bools, Chrissy Colavecchio and Shawna Wilson. Pam Livingstone, Artistic Director Emerita of Hickory Community Theatre, directs it.
The comedy, about four female residents of an Arizona retirement community on a road trip, was a hit last year when WBW performed it locally. Says WBW’s Artistic Directory Shawna Wilson. “It’s a lot of fun, and with actresses this good, it’s also quite touching. Come see it again or see it for the first time and bring a friend.”
Written by Cricket Daniel, the play follows long-time friends as they crisscross the country sharing stories at the locations of their ‘first time’. Broadway World found it, “funny, profound, provocative and adventurous”.
*Trigger Warning: The play contains a brief account of sexual violence in one character’s story. While the play’s overall tone is comedic and uplifting, WBW and HCT recognize the importance of informing the audience about sensitive content in advance.
Well Behaved Women Theatre Company produces this show in association with The Hickory Community Theatre. Tickets are $22 each, reserved seating, and available now at hickorytheatre.org, or call 828.328.2283. The theatre is located at 30 3rd Street NW, Hickory, 28601.
