Hickory – Come Hang This Weekend at Hickory Community Theatre. Opening Friday, November 7, in the Firemen’s Kitchen, Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen brings dark humor and sharp suspense to the stage through November 22. Performances: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, Sundays at 2:30 PM, and Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 PM.

Set in a small pub in northern England, Hangmen centers on Harry Wade, a local celebrity whose claim to fame is being the second-best hangman in Britain. When the death penalty is abolished, Harry’s moment in the spotlight takes an unexpected turn. As regulars and reporters crowd in for his reaction, a quiet tension builds — and a mysterious stranger’s arrival threatens to turn curiosity into menace. The Firemen’s Kitchen is the perfect stage for playwright Martin McDonagh’s biting wit and gallows humor.

Tickets: $18 adults / $12 students. Recommended for ages 18 and up. Visit hickorytheatre.org or call 828-328-2283 to purchase.
