Newton, NC – The Green Room Community Theatre is proud to present Shrek the Musical, opening this Friday, Nov. 14. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, this hilarious fairy-tale adventure brings everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage.

Filled with catchy songs, big laughs, and heart, Shrek the Musical tells the story of an unlikely hero who sets out to rescue a feisty princess, joined by a wise-cracking donkey and a cast of unforgettable fairy-tale misfits. With a message of acceptance and self-love, this fun-filled show is perfect for the whole family.

The production is directed by Allison Andrews, with Neil Underwood as music director, Holley Dagenhardt as choreographer, Carol Sigmon as stage manager, and Elise Yaussy as assistant stage manager. Shrek the Musical is produced by McCreary Modern, Catawba Valley Health Systems, and Peoples Bank.

Tickets are available online at thegreenroomtheatre.org or by calling the box office at 828-464-6128 (open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Prices are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, $14 for students and $8 for children 12 and under, not including N.C. sales tax.
