The March meeting of the Catawba County Branch NAACP will be on Sunday, March 8th, 2026, at 4:00pm Mt. Olin AME Zion Church, 2583 Smyre Farm Rd, Newton, NC.
You’re invited to join us for our upcoming NAACP March Monthly Meeting as we welcome a special guest: Dr. Emily Shaw, New Superintendent of Newton-Conover City Schools.
Dr. Emily Shaw, recently selected as the new Superintendent of Newton-Conover City Schools, will be speaking at our next NAACP meeting. Chosen by the Board of Education on November 6, 2025, Dr. Shaw brings 21 years of experience in education and previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Montgomery County Schools. She was officially sworn in on January 1, 2026. Join us as we welcome her and hear her vision for the future of our public schools.

The NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. The Catawba County Branch meets on the second Sunday of each month.
