Hickory, Conover & Newton, NC – DOT is back with Greenway’s Find Me Fridays starting June 16th 2017 & Rider Appreciation Day June 30th 2017.
Greenway wants to guide everyone to the local adventures along the bus routes in the cities of Conover, Hickory, and Newton this summer. Every other Friday from June 16th until August 18th, DOT the Greenway ambassador, will be out in the community connecting people to some of the awesome places & events all over Catawba County that are accessible along the bus lines.
In addition to highlighting the local community agency, the Adventure Pass will return this year. For the low cost of $40 this pass offers unlimited rides to any student with a valid student ID from June 1st, 2017 until August 31st, 2017. That’s a savings of $95!
These passes will be available June 1st, 2017 for purchase at the Greenway Transit Center (285 1st Ave SW, Hickory NC 28601) in downtown Hickory, and at the Greenway Dispatch Office located in Conover.
In this fun way to give back to ridership, Find Me Fridays are virtual scavenger hunts; The rules are simple; Find “Dot” around town or on the bus by following the clues posted on Greenway Public Transportation’s Facebook page, and Twitter account (@WPRTA).
The first person to find “Dot” will win a prize that highlights the location “Dot” is found. All locations will be fully accessible by the fixed route bus lines.

Greenway Public Transportation is also excited to announce this year’s Rider Appreciation Day is sponsored by Sheetz Inc. In partnership with the Sheetz Restaurant, riders will receive a free meal.
The event will be hosted at the Greenway Transit Center located in the heart of downtown Hickory on June 30th 2017 from 11am until 1:30pm. The address for the Greenway Transit Center is 285 1st Ave SW, Hickory NC 28601. These events are focused on giving back to the vital part of public transportation, the ridership.
