Women’s History Month, Celebrating Advocates For Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion On March 14

Hickory – The Women’s Resource Center, Friends of the Ridgeview Library, and the League of Women Voters are thrilled to announce the upcoming Women’s History Month Celebration, scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the Coe Gallery at the Hickory Museum of Art. Admission is free and open to the public.

This year’s celebration, themed “Women who advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,” aims to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of women in our community who have tirelessly worked towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

The distinguished honorees of this year’s celebration are Martha Carrillo, Honey Yang Estrada, Genita Swanson Hill, and Sarah Huffman. These remarkable women have demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication in advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion, inspiring positive change, and fostering a culture of belonging within our community.

As part of the festivities, there will be a special presentation by the Saint Stephens High School Theatre Department, highlighting the importance of women’s voices in shaping our future. Additionally, voter registration services will be available onsite, empowering attendees to exercise their fundamental right to participate in the democratic process.

To complement the evening’s program, light refreshments will be served, providing an opportunity for guests to network, connect, and celebrate the achievements of women in our community.

We cordially invite members of the press, community leaders, advocates, and the public to join us in honoring these exceptional women and celebrating the rich legacy of female empowerment and resilience during Women’s History Month.
